**6F35 Direct Clutch Analysis:  


The **direct clutch** in the 6F35 (2.0T) engages **1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th gears** via hydraulic pressure. Key points:  


1. **Function** – Locks planetary gearsets to transmit engine torque.  


2. **Common Failures** – Worn friction plates or seal leaks cause slippage/shifting delays.  


3. **Upgrades** – Later models use **high-density friction materials** for EcoBoost torque.
